How can I help?
Sure, you want to be healthy. But between endless piles of laundry, shuttling kids to soccer practice and the pressures of making a living, sometimes you find yourself reaching for quick and convenient foods. And time to workout? Forget about it.
As a wife and mom of two active boys, I often find myself the gatekeeper to what kind of food we have in our home. It's not a responsibility I take lightly. I've also learned that when I make my health a priority, I can show up better for those who need me most.
If you’ve ever found yourself discouraged with not being able to lose the last few pounds or never having a plan for dinner, don’t keep beating yourself up. Let me help you come up with a realistic plan that you can stick to!
Food + Fitness
Over 10 years in the fitness industry has taught me the importance of finding what works for YOU given your exact season of life.
Having never played sports growing up, I always felt a little intimidated by the confident athletic kids. However, I have always enjoyed how exercise made me feel and became a personal trainer at my local gym after college. Took a break from training and fitness in general while we had our first baby. While I was nursing Elijah, I got down to my lowest weight and was skinny but not healthy. After struggling to get pregnant the second time and then a miscarriage, God blessed us with Liam.
After Liam, the baby weight was much harder to lose. I struggled to run a mile or complete a pull up. Post pregnancy core, low back pain, and sleep deprivation left me feeling tired and weak. A friend invited me to CrossFit and that’s where I fell in love with strength training. No longer was working out and eating about how you look or what number was on the scale, it was about what your body could do, and the endless challenge of new things to learn and accomplish.
Fast forward to life now, with over 10 years of one on one personal training, coaching classes, teaching seminars, and organizing challenges, you’ll find that most of my nutrition knowledge comes from real life experience. Sure I’ve done tons of research and learning in this area, but the things I’ve learned the most have been in my own kitchen. After struggling with a slew of chronic GI issues, I was forced to dive deeper into nutrition. I started sharing my love for healthy food and soon was meal prepping for people in my kitchen, leaving dishes stacked to the ceiling!
While I’m thankful every day for being able to move my body, I can relate to those of you who have had struggles either with body image, confidence in the gym, or health issues. I’ve had to learn to navigate what fitness and nutrition goals were attainable for me through pregnancy, childbirth, gall-bladder surgery, chronic back pain and injuries, spine surgery, ongoing GI issues, and moving into the latter half of the thirties.
I’d like to help you find what works, and what doesn’t, so you can look and feel your best. I would love for you to find freedom from restrictions and diets and feeling guilty about food choices to viewing food as fuel and a way to transform your body from the inside out. I strongly believe that the habits and disciplines we apply in the areas of our food and fitness carry over into every other area of our lives!
